This year, in PE I've shown up consistently, and have never forgotten my gym strip. I also participate in class activities, from choice to fitness. Throughout the year, ive began getting more active outside of school, I started going to dance workshops after school. Although it was a new experience, (I don't dance, nor am I very good at it) it was a great experience, and i found myself having a lot of fun along the way. I've also found myself eating healthier as the year progressed, eating less junk food as snacks, as well as fast food, since I now (thanks to foods class) know what harm they could do for your health. I learned that there are lots of easy, healthy snacks you can make, in no time.
On weekends, I have also been more active, instead of sitting around on the computer most of the day, I go and play outside, (as in simply moving around, playing basketball, riding a bike, playing tag around the neighborhood, etc ) since a lot of people from school live nearby. Because of these changes, I find PE to be less of something that bothers me, and more as something to have some fun in, especially with the beautiful weather. Although I dont like some of the activities we do, I still try to have some fun, and I enjoy the choice activities we do, because there is always something new to try. In activities I bring a positive attitude, and participate. An example was today's activity, in lacrosse. I had a lot of fun, as it was a great day outside. I ran around a lot, and tried my best, while laughing and enjoying the game.
My goal for my fitness would be able to run for a longer amount of time, as well as to be more comfortable with having my heart rate up.Over the year, my fitness level has improved, as well as my outlook towards PE. I should still improve on helping out set up equipment, or taking leadership. Some things that can keep me from achieving my goal would in all honesty, is my time on my computer. I spend a lot of time on social media sites or playing video games on my pc. I also have a lot of trouble sleeping. Whenever I seem gloomy, I'm actually really really tired. Although, I still try my best in fitness and other class activities. Even though I know I have improved over the year, I think I deserve a B.
Great Post Gayle. Exercising will definitely help you sleep better... and so will doing less "screen" time. Both have been proven by science. Try turning off the devices earlier in the night and finishing with a walk or something. Helps "quiet" your mind and your body. I am excited your attitude is changing... I hope it keeps get better with your dance classes this summer. :)
